The Journey

Two decades, five disciplines, one thread.

A path that started on a 286/386 lab bench right after matriculation, and never really left the workshop — it just kept changing shape.

2000 — First Contact

A computer lab, right after matriculation

Enrolled in a computer college during the matric holidays, in the 286/386/Pentium era when computers were still rare. Finished the course and was invited back to teach — a first, early lesson in learning something well enough to hand it to someone else.

College Years — First Code

BASIC, COBOL, dBase III+

Learned what programming actually was, then closed out the course with a large final project built for a major industry in the home city — the first real taste of software solving a real business problem.

Post-Intermediate

Associate Engineering in Electronics

A parallel love for electronics and electrical systems led to a technical college diploma, and from there into the medical field — repairing ultrasound machines, X‑ray units, and CBC analyzers, saving employers significant repair costs along the way.

~5–6 Years

Teaching, Intermediate to Masters level

Taught computer science across colleges and universities while running an independent short‑course setup on the side — the earliest version of what SkillHeader would eventually become.

Corporate Chapter

Four applications, one first month

Joined a multinational corporate setup and, within the first month, identified structural gaps and shipped four major applications the company adopted and built further ideas on top of.

5 Years — Abroad

Hardware bench to enterprise network

No formal CompTIA A+ or MCSE certificate on paper — but matching hands-on delivery, taught and practically implemented. Five years in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as a hardware technician and network engineer for close to five companies: LAN design, DNS, DHCP, Proxy, ISA servers, and Active Directory. In 2005, stood up DNS/ISA servers for major internet cafés and built a college's Active Directory network — the city's second-largest at the time. Also designed and managed three CCTV setups, including a 22-camera network.

Telecom Sector — Multi-Year Track

Fuel & asset analytics for national telecom networks

As Regional and Senior Fuel Analyst across Zong (China Mobile Pakistan), Mobiserve, and i Engineering, managed fuel and asset operations for telecom site networks nationwide within Engineering O&M. Built automation systems — a centralized BTS sites database, fuel automation, and KPI scoring among them — later rolled out company-wide, earning Regional CTO recognition and multiple Champion of the Month and Outstanding Performance awards (2015–2019).

Last 6 Years — Quietly Running

Five systems, built and battle-tested in MS Access & SQL Server

A patient MR‑number reception system, vitals entry, a physician's prescription system, a pharmacy system, and an industrial manufacturing system — all custom‑built, drawing on firsthand hospital and micro-lab administration experience, and all still running in production without ever having one authentic public platform behind them.

Now

Taking it all online

That gap is exactly what AdminBeat exists to close — moving years of desktop‑bound, single‑location systems into a web‑based, multi‑business platform, alongside SkillHeader's growing library of practical MS Access training.

In Practice

Built to run quietly, for years.

The same five systems have been running in the background of real businesses for six years — proof that the work holds up long after the demo is over.

  • MR

Patient MR-Number ReceptionRegistration and medical-record intake for clinical front desks.

  • VT

Vitals Entry SystemStructured capture of patient vitals ahead of consultation.

  • RX

Physician Prescription SystemA comprehensive, studied prescription workflow for physicians.

  • PH

Pharmacy SystemDispensing and stock tracking tied back to prescriptions.

  • MFG

Manufacturing SystemProduction-floor tracking for an industrial client, built in MS Access.

Where the Work Lives

Four platforms, one working philosophy.

Teach it, build it, run it, review it — each platform picks up a different piece of the same practice.

About Me

Who I am today.

I'm Usman Rasheed, a technology consultant, educator, and software developer with more than 18 years of experience designing business systems that solve real operational challenges.

Throughout my career, I've worked across education, electronics, healthcare, enterprise software, networking, and business automation — including several years managing fuel and asset analytics for national telecom networks, where the same instinct to automate manual processes led to systems adopted company-wide. This diverse experience lets me bridge technical knowledge with practical business needs, communicating comfortably in both English and Arabic.

Today, I focus on helping organizations improve efficiency through custom software, Microsoft Access solutions, ERP systems, and professional training.
